Being an upcoming football player with dreams of turning pro doesn’t just start when you get on the field.  It starts when you go to bed, you should be dreaming about football and as soon as you wake up you should be eating like an athlete. Your performance is not dictated by how hard you work out but how well you eat.

As a football player the two major things that can affect any athlete’s performance is the consumption of fast food and soda. Soda dehydrates you and the level of sugar and carbohydrates force your body to work harder. And the sodium and fats in fast food will not help you train to your optimum level.

The one thing you also don’t want to do is skip breakfast or stock up with sugary cereal. The first meal of the day will step up your performance on the field later on. You start off with a bad breakfast you might end with a horrible workout.

Water is also an essential part of being not just a good football player but a great football player. Hydration is the key, athlete’s work out more than the average person therefore you have to train and treat your body like a machine. Always keep a water bottle with you during the day so you can stay hydrated. Don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink water because then is too late.

In order to be a great football player and fulfill your dreams you have to change your mindset and treat and train your body like a pro. You cannot take eating and diet lightly. You need to eat healthy food, drink plenty of water and treat your body like a temple. And don’t forget to stay away from the soda and process foods.
